Grant Washington-Smith is an accomplished nutritional scientist and food formulator with over two decades of experience leading innovation in human nutrition and consumer health. As Chief Scientific Officer at Carefore Global, Grant oversees the development of advanced nutritional solutions that combine science-backed efficacy with outstanding taste and consumer appeal.
Grant is the scientific mind behind Biolactol™ technology, a proprietary fermentation and formulation platform designed to enhance gut health, bioavailability, and overall wellness. This breakthrough technology underpins several of Carefore Global’s flagship products and exemplifies Grant’s commitment to integrating functional science with real-world consumer needs.
Throughout his career, Grant has led numerous technical and commercial due diligence projects and helped bring multiple award-nominated product ranges to market, including Finalists in the New Zealand Innovation Awards (2014), World Beverage Awards (2021), and World Food Awards (2021).
He has co-founded several successful ventures such as Anagenix Ltd, Epiology Skincare—one of the fastest-growing launches in New Zealand pharmacy (2013)—and KDI Ingredients, which exited to an ASX-listed company in 2020.
A strategic thinker and hands-on innovator, Grant blends scientific depth with entrepreneurial drive, making him a key force behind Carefore Global’s mission to build a complete ecosystem for health and nutrition.

Peter Lehrke is a biochemist with more than 30 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, and cosmetics with roles including product development, manufacturing, project management and general management. His career includes time in senior management roles with the world’s largest pharmaceutical company GSK, Douglas Pharmaceuticals , GMP Pharmaceuticals.
Peter then started his first company, consulting business Pharmatech where he developed products for his clients, including GoTo Skincare where he became a Director and Shareholder.
Today Peter is Managing Director of his dietary supplement contract manufacturing business PharmaNZ who offer development and manufacturing services.
Peter has also served on the Executive Board of the supplements industry body Natural Health Products New Zealand since 2003.
